It has been a crazy week to say the least! Aunt Becky got married on Saturday which meant lots of running around last week getting ready for the big day. I was the MOH, Jason was the officiant, Hannah the flower girl, and Luke the ring bearer. It was a family affair! It was beautiful. Becky looked amazing and everyone was really excited for Becky and Joe. I also think we were excited for it to be over! Seems like we have been doing wedding talk/planning for a very long time. Hannah and Luke were carried down the aisle. Hannah did throw flowers which was the cutest thing I have every seen and everyone laughed and said she was "so cute".
There were two slight incidences. First, Stephanie, another BM, locked her keys in her car after getting her hair done. It was no biggie - we just swapped the guys and gals picture times and everything was fine. Then there was the boo boo. When Jason got there I was already taking pictures so he got the stroller to being them in. There were three steps and since he was alone, he picked the stroller up by the front tray. We have done this dozens of times, but on this occasion the tray decides to pop off and hit Luke in the mouth. All I hear is Luke screaming so I run (from taking pictures) to him and see that he is bleeding, pick him up (yes, I am in my dress, before the wedding), and run inside. Look, my baby was bleeding for the first time ever. I flipped out a little. Anyway, we realize it hit his lip and he is okay and stop the bleeding (all while I am holding him and I am crying). Once things calmed down we realize I had his blood all over the top of my dress. Luckily, mom had shout wipes which completely got the blood out! I will now always carry Shout wipes!
Today we had an eye doctor appointment. Alabama as a program where infants can get a free eye visit in the first year of life so off we go. Luke is fine, but Hannah is apparently very farsighted. More than babies should be (they are all a little far sighed). So we have ordered her some pink gummy glasses. The doctor thinks this is why she isn't crawling. They watched her walk and said she has the coordination and muscle to crawl, she just isn't. Apparently, she won't crawl because she can see what she wants but can't make out the thing between her and the object so she doesn't have confidence to move. This also explains why she doesn't want to be held so close and why she won't let us go when walking even though she has her balance. The dr said she shouldn't have a problem keeping the glasses on because her vision is so bad, she will realize she can see and will keep them on. We will see. I will pick them up on Monday. Maybe now she will crawl before she turns one!
